Ranch dressing! Am I right?!
That stuff is deeeelish. It’s totally one of those ubiquitous sauces that can be drizzled on anything. Sandwiches, pizza, veggies – you name it. I’ve been dipping basically anything in it and the pups kept trying to steal some while I took these pictures.
The only problem with ranch is that it drops a huge bomb of calories and, if store bought, a lot of preservatives and weirdo added ingredients. So having a healthier homemade version around has been coming in handy.
Cue the yogurt 🙂
Here, I used plain 2% greek yogurt for the consistency, tanginess and added boost of protein. But I would imagine any plain yogurt would work. You may just have to tweak the amount of milk you add so it’s not too runny.
Fresh herbs and lemon juice help brighten this up and the little bit of mayo really helps ranch it up. I know mayo is not the best thing for you, but it made enough of a difference here that I decided to add it in. It just helps round out the yogurt flavor. It can be omitted though if you don’t vibe with mayo.
Also, I used diced onion but onion powder would work as well and would create a smoother dressing. Substitute about 1/2 teaspoon or so if you’d prefer it.
